A Copenhagen based circus performer specialized in aerial acrobatics who is always searching the boundaries between new circus, modern dance and performance art. Michiel masters his basic skills in acrobatics, ropes, strops and object manipulation to a degree, where he manages to create strong and poetic solo work with his own original and personal expression. His choreographed and highly visual pieces are thus creating a dynamic and entertaining hybrid between dance, performance art and new circus, which relates to the more artistic tendencies within the new burlesque.

Cirkusartisten Michiel van Leeuwen, som holder til i København, har specialiseret sig i luftakrobatik og udforsker til stadighed grænseområdet mellem ny cirkkus, moderne dans og performancekunst. Han mestrer både akrobatik, reb, stropper og objektmanipulation i en grad, der tillader ham at skabe stærkt og poetisk soloarbejde, som præges af hans originale og meget personlige udtryk.
Hans koreograferede og stærkt visuelle numre skaber således en dynamisk og underholdende hybrid af dans, performancekunst og New Circus, som læner sig op ad de mere kunstneriske strømninger inden for New Burlesque.
